Nite Hawk Band is confirmed for Friday and Saturday 2-6 pm on the small stage.
 
Royal Canadian Legion will be setting up the fence for the beer garden around Kitchen #1.
 
Honey contest is set to go.  Three judges have been chosen.  1st place receives $150, 2nd place receives $50 and 3rd place receives $25.  All honey is retained by RRVAS and will be auctioned off.  Proceeds will go back into the future honey competitions.
 
Gate admission is a Good Will Offering – signs will be posted and Board members will be manning the gates.
 
WE NEED VOLUNTEERS!  Anyone that wants to Volunteer can contact Laura Haglin 807-487-1888 R.R.V.A.S@hotmail.com.
 
50/50 table will be set up outside the Exhibition Hall and someone will be selling from 12 pm to 6 pm Friday and Saturday.
 
Silent Auction will be at the 50/50 table on Saturday.  You can bid on the silent auction items from 12 pm to 6 pm on Saturday.
 
Farmers Market/Vendor Blender will be set up in the Arena.  Contact Diane Gibson (807) 275-8448 or Donna Lowey (807) 274-3633 for more information or to book a spot.
 
Membership Fees for 2020 will not be held over to 2021.  Membership fees are to be paid annually regardless of cancellation of the fair.  Membership is $10 and can be obtained by contacting Laura Haglin.  Membership is required to exhibit at the fair.  Donations are also gladly accepted.
 
Washroom Cleaner Needed.  This is a PAID position.  If you are interested in cleaning the washrooms during the fair, please contact Laura Haglin 807-487-1888 R.R.V.A.S@hotmail.com.
 
Loggers Competition is Friday at 930 am.  There will be no Tea Boil due to the Fire Ban.  More information will be posted soon.
 
Hannah Anderson will be singing at the Queen Crowning (Thursday) and the Mini King & Queen Contest (Saturday). Hannah is a local singer from Fort Frances.  She released her first single, Where Ever You Are, in February and has recently released her second single, Head Up.
 
Dom’s Inflatable Bouncy Castles have been confirmed.  They will be bringing 4 castles and will have disposable socks for sale in case bouncers forget their socks at home.
 
Fair Games featuring Fair Queen Royalty are in the works.  They are planning some fun, old-fashioned fair games such as water balloons, potato sack races, relay races, etc.
 
Exhibition Hall hours have changed to 3-830 pm on Wednesday for accepting entries.  The Secretary will be at the grounds starting Wednesday if you want to pick up tags.  Best to get them when you come to enter your exhibit.
 
Lou’s Sweet Treats will be on the grounds selling ice cream, chips, chocolate, bars and much more.
 
COVID SAFETY RULES apply to all areas at the Fairgrounds.  Physical distancing of at LEAST 6 feet or 2 meters from anyone that is not in your household at all times.

DON’T FORGET TO BRING YOUR MASK!  If you cannot physical distance outdoors then masks must be worn.  Masks must be worn at all times while indoors (Exhibition Hall, Arena, Washroom, Barns, etc.). Anytime you are in an enclosed area or under a roof, masks must be worn if you cannot physical distance from others.  Once seated you can remove your mask (ie. at a picnic table, in the grandstands, etc.).

Royal Canadian Legion hours have changed to noon to 11 pm Friday and Saturday.

Vendor Blender/Farmers Market & Penny Table hours are 2-8 pm on Friday, 10 am – 3 pm Saturday. Additional contact is Donna Lowey 274-3633 (prefers texting).

Bouncy Castles provided by Dom’s Inflatables. They will have 4 inflatables. More info on the bouncy castles is listed on the website.

Honey competition 1st prize is $150, not $100. Reminder that you must have a $10 RRVAS membership to enter the competition. Honey Competition info has been posted to the website.

Old Tractor Club has confirmed they will be attending the fair with the Early Iron Club at noon on Saturday.

We are updating the website daily.  Please check the schedule on the website: www.emofair.com
 
RRVAS will adhere to all Covid-19 safety protocols.  Masks will be required in all indoor spaces on the fair grounds. Please remember to bring your mask, wash your hands often and/or sanitize.
 
Physical distancing is part of the safety protocols.  Stay at least 6 feet way from your neighbours.
 
All events are the 2021 fair are subject to change or cancellation depending on Covid-19 restrictions.
 
There will be a vendor blender/farmers market and penny table in the arena.  We are waiting to hear back on times. We are looking for items for the penny table.
 
Royal Canadian Legion (Emo Branch) will be attending with their beer garden.  They will be in the new pavilion next to the small stage.  Hours are Friday and Saturday 11 am to midnight.
 
The Nite Hawk Band will be performing on the small stage on Friday and Saturday from 2-6 pm
 
Mini King & Queen contest will be on Saturday at 1 pm after the parade on the small stage.
 
Fair Queen crowning has changed to 7 pm on Thursday on the small stage.
 
Stock car racing will commence as usual on Friday and Saturday nights starting at 6 pm.
 
Food Booths will be provided by the Fort Frances Lakers, Milk Booth, and Kelvin & Shelley Caul.
 
Gate admission is a FREE WILL donation.  We are unsure how many people will be attending the fair this year, so we ask that you throw a few bucks in the jar when you enter.  It is very expensive to put on a fair of this caliber and we appreciate your donation at the gate.  Please use the gate on Colonization Road (main entrance closest to Cloverleaf). 
 
We received a generous donation from Rick Neilson for a honey competition.  Calling all bee farmers – submit your honey for the honey competition.  Prizes will be $100 for first place, $50 for second, and $25 for third.
 
Go cart racing will be on Saturday at 9 am in the middle of the stock car track.
 
Bouncy Castles are coming to the Fair!  We are hiring bouncy castles to attend the fair with 6 of their bouncy castles.  Admission will be $5.00 per person, per day.  They will be open from Noon to 6 pm Friday and Saturday.  Please note – Parental supervision is required. Children must wear socks so remember to bring them with you.
 
Fair Games featuring Fair Queen Royalty – the fair queens will be providing FREE entertainment for the family on the main grounds.  They are planning some fun games and prizes to be won.  This will take place on Saturday from 2 to 4 pm on the main grounds.
 
The Baptist Church will be providing children’s activities on Friday and Saturday from noon to 6pm on the main grounds.
 
Equipment displays this year will be Peterbilt, Fort Frances GM, and Sunset Country Ford (Beyak Automotive Group).  They will be on the main grounds.
 
Early Iron Club will be hosting a Show N Shine starting at noon on Saturday on the main grounds.
 
We are working on getting the local tractor club to participate as well.  We are waiting for confirmation on that as well.
 
4-H Beef Show is a GO!  This will be the same as other years.  Steer weigh-in is on Friday at 5 pm.  The beef show starts at 8 am on Saturday and the steer auction is at 4 pm on Saturday.  Sorry, the barns are not open to the public this year due to 4-H Covid regulations.
 
Horse Show is also a GO!  This year we will be doing a one-day gymkhana starting at 1 pm on Saturday after the parade.  The horse barns will not be open so everyone will be able to work out of their trailers.
 
The parade theme is Celebrate 2021!
 
We are in the process of acquiring our lottery license to host a 50/50 draw at the fair.  Look for the ticket booth under the pavilion.  The draw will be made on Saturday at 7 pm.
 
We are working on a revised list of exhibits we will be accepting for the Exhibition Hall.  There will be NO FOOD ITEMS this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.  A revised fair book for that section will be posted shortly.  Exhibition Hall items will be accepted Wednesday from 4-8 pm.
